How much does breed impact how the public views/interacts with a team? I already decided against a bull breed so I didn't have to deal with the combination of stigma and fur mommies being ridiculous cause it's a "pibble" that I've seen other handlers go through, but I haven't seen much talk about wolfy looking dogs(100% dog) and long haired/fluffy dogs looks and how it effects a team.
Breed does unfortunately play a huge part in who does and doesn’t talk to you. You’ll find from handlers that have dogs that are typical “scary” breeds like dobermans, rottweilers, or German shepherds that people will avoid them more. I have a friend with a dobe that has had people literally scream and jump out of the way. But then there are handlers that have small dogs, poodles, or generally friendly or pretty dogs and they get more people bugging them. I know @anauthorandherservicedog has issues with people talking to their dog, Bucky because he looks like a big floofy teddy bear. He’s interesting and people like to ask questions. I haven’t read personal experiences with dogs like huskies or malamutes but I’m sure that there are issues there, too.
